Spanish I – Take quiz on Unit 1:1 and work on vocabulary sheets for Unit 1:2.  Take notes on tex mex.

 

Spanish II – review direct and indirect object pronouns.  Remind them to bring workbooks on Thursday.  Assign Review section 2 – 5 page 48 in book.

January 31

spanish I – Review for quiz.  Quiz will cover the vocabulary sheet you completed for 1:1 and the verb ser.  Vocabulary part will be matching and the ser part will be multiple choice and fill in the blank.

Spanish II – do powerpoint presentations.

January 30th

Spanish I – Review vocabulary, verb ser con jugattion, me gusta format, discuss hernando de Soto, Do Activities 2-5 on page 52-53.   Do Workbook pages using overhead on pages 1-3 (1-2),   4-6 (1-2), 7-9 (1-2), do pp 15-17 (orally in class)21-23 (all).

Spanish II – They will be working all period on their projects that will be due tomorrow.  We will be having a quiz on Wednesday of this week.

January 27th

Spanish I – Review ser conjugations from page 38-39 - Activities 7-8.  Do Activity 9 orally, Have students do dialogue from page 40 and then discuss Los Premios Juventud on page 41.    Introduce gustar concept from page 42 and practice orally with exercises 13-14 on page 43.    Discuss the art of Xavier Cortada on page 44, do additional  dialogue on page 45.  Have students do me gusta survey and total up the results.

Spanish II – Second block took notes on Costa Rica and then worked on group projects.  Fourth and Fifth blocks worked only on the projects.

Jaunary 26th

Happy Anniversary to me!

Spanish I – Beginning today on pages 32-33 we are going to learn new vocabulary.   We will practice using the vocabulary on page 34 with Activites 1-2.  We will do the Tlehistoria on page 35.  We will do activity 4 on page 36.  Add these words to their vocabulary list – andar en bicicleta, monopatín, la gaseosa, el zumo.  distinguish between jugar and tocar – both meaning to play.  Do a Venn Diagram on the board….two circles labeled – Inside/Outside…place activities in the circles from the vocabulary list.  Introduce ser verb on page 37.  Discuss with class when to use ser.  Do Activity 7 on page 38 and 8 on page 39.  Read Telehistoria escena 2 if time permits.

Spanish II – Watch costa Rica powerpoint and take notes on Costa Rica.  Introduce vocabulary from pages 36-37.   Practice using vocabulary on pages 38 with activity 2-3.  Read Telehistoria aloud as play on page 39.    Discuss personal “a” usage from page 40.  Review Direct Object pronouns on page 41.  Do Activity 6-7 on page 42 and discuss Pura Vida art of Adrian Gomez.

January 24th

Spanish I - Review for Introduction test on Wednesday.  Part I – Spelling using vocabulary.  I will spell 5 names in Spanish and you will write the letters in the blanks provided.  Part II – Using numbers zero to ten.  I will give you five phone numbers orally in Spanish and you will write the corresponding numeral.  Part III – Using the classroom vocabulary part of book you will give me the English equivalent for five of those words.  Part IV – Looking at 5 weather pictures you will describe the weather.  Part V – You will answer three questions in Spanish.

Spanish II – Review for Introduction test on Wednesday.  PART I – covers definite articles from page 4.  You will have to fill in the blank with the correct form of el, la, los, las.  PART II – Complete sentences with the correct form of the verbs ser (page 5), estar (R-34), and tener (9). You will not have to guess at the verb it is given.  All you have to do is conjugate it.  PART III – Conjugate the following verbs ((page 24):  mirar, escuchar, jugar, beber, comer, leer, escribir, hacer.  PART IV – Adjective usage – (page 8) – make the adjective fit the subject in the sentences.  PART V -Conjugate the verb ir (page 16), _PART V – Conjugate the following verbs (stem-changing verbs – page 25):  querer, volver, costar, poder, pensar, almorzar, servir.  This test is worth 50 points.

January 23rd

Spanish I – reviewed and learned classroom items vocabulary.  Worked on vocabulary worksheet and played vocabulary game.

Spanish II – reviewed and learned some new vocabulary about doing things and having a phone conversation.  Did Act 28 and Review Act 5 from book.  Worked on vocabulary worksheet.

January 20th

Spanish I – Review previous material. review numbers, introduce months and days of the week.  For Monday…..they need to be able to recite their numbers to 10 and the days of the week….without using the book.  For bonus they can recite the months of the year.  All must be in order and correct.

Spanish II – review how are you vocabulary.  Distinguish between ser and estar,  review past time vocabulary, review -ar. -er. -ir verbs from page 24.  Assign Act 18 on page 20, Activity 20 on page 21, and create sentences on page 24 in activity 22.  Due at the end of class.

Spanish I – collect homework, review through page 13 in book.  Give students the countries worksheet for homework.  Do Act. 11-13 on pages 14-15 in book.  Introduce numbers on page 16 and do activities 14-15 on page 17.  Take notes on New York.

Spanish II – collect homework, review through page 9 in book and then review me gusta concepts on pages 10-11.  Review gustar on page 12.  Do activity 9  and 11.  Take notes on Miami from laptop.  Begin reviewing adonde van concept from page 14-15.  Review ir + a from page 16 and do activity 12 and 13 for homework.
